WProofreader Pro checks website content for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style while authors work in WordPress. Pro supports unlimited sites and has no daily word limits. Writers can check text as they type, with suggestions shown on hover, or review a complete piece in a dialog that gathers detected issues and suggestions in one place.

The add-on also includes AI-powered text rephrasing and proofreading, autocomplete suggestions, and autocorrect for common typos. Predefined style checks cover non-inclusive language and profanity.

Personal and organization dictionaries

Users can add complex words, acronyms, and proper names to a personal dictionary. Added terms are not treated as misspellings and can appear in the suggestions list. Depending on the available setup, personal dictionary words are stored in browser local storage or in the cloud and can be accessible from the browser.

Subscription owners can make organization-level dictionaries. Administrators can add terminology that is then available to visitors across connected websites, supporting consistent language across a team. A style guide builder is also available for creating language rules.

Language coverage and specialist dictionaries

The add-on's broader language functionality covers more than 20 languages, and Pro includes spelling and grammar checks in dozens of languages. Specialized medical spelling dictionaries are available for English, German, French, and Spanish. An English legal spelling dictionary is also available.

Configure the WordPress process

Install the plugin in WordPress, open its configuration, and choose the proofreading options and languages for the website or team. Writers can use check-as-you-type or proofread-in-dialog mode; personal and organization-level dictionaries can be configured as needed. The plugin is compatible with the latest WordPress versions, and the website has no banner ads.
