WordPress plugin
Optimole Pro for WordPress Media Libraries
Optimole Pro connects a WordPress site to a cloud image optimization service. It replaces image URLs with cloud-based URLs while leaving original files on the server, unless you enable Pro image offloading.

How picture delivery works
Optimole Pro connects a WordPress site to a cloud image optimization service. It replaces image URLs with cloud-based URLs while leaving original files on the server, unless you enable Pro image offloading.
When a user opens a page, Optimole considers their device, screen size, browser, and connection speed to prepare an appropriately sized image. Machine-learning compression balances file size with visual detail. Supported browsers receive WebP or AVIF; otherwise, Optimole serves an optimized image in its original format. Media is delivered through AWS CloudFront, with edge locations in more than 450 cities.
Library and delivery controls
Bulk optimization can process an entire media library with one click and continue in the background, so the browser does not need to stay open. The cloud media library works with digital asset management and sharing assets across multiple websites. It can manage images, video, audio, and files.
Pro adds optional offloading to cloud storage, which can free space on the WordPress server. Offloaded images can be transferred back with one-click restoration. Pro visitors can also configure a custom CNAME for branded image URLs and receive priority support.
For delivery, Optimole resizes images for visitor screens, including Retina and other high-density shows. Its lazy loading defers offscreen images without relying on jQuery. Adaptive placeholders reserve image space to help limit layout shifts, and smart cropping can keep the subject in view as dimensions change. Automatic watermarking can apply configured marks to images.
Where it fits and how to set it up
Optimole Pro suits photographers, agencies, businesses with large photo libraries, WooCommerce stores with product galleries, and portfolios with many visual assets. Cloud processing keeps image work away from hosting resources, while CDN delivery serves optimized media to users.
Install the WordPress plugin, connect it to the cloud service, and let it replace image URLs. You can then start bulk processing existing media. If needed, enable Pro offloading, restore offloaded files to the server later, or set a custom CNAME for image URLs.
