Update modes, schedules, and exclusions
In automatic mode, you can exclude selected add-ons and themes, including inactive ones. You can also disable automatic updates for WordPress core when you want to manage those separately. Products purchased through Envato are supported.
Scheduled searches and update actions execute when the site is active. If there is no website activity at the scheduled time, processing waits for activity to resume, so the actual timing can shift.
Backups before updates
Before applying updates, Updater Pro can back up database tables and files. Backup options include all tables and all folders. You can also enable automatic deletion of old backups.
Email notifications
Configure notices about available versions and after updates, then set the recipient address and personalize the sender field. The plugin sends update notices when updates are available; if none are available, it does not send a notice. Delivery depends on the WordPress site and server email configuration. If messages are not arriving, check the extension settings and email setup; the provided guidance recommends configuring an SMTP plugin when needed.
Scheduled email and update work runs when the site receives activity, so processing may occur later than the configured time if the site was idle.
Setup and language support
Install and activate Updater Pro in WordPress, then open its settings to choose an update mode, update types, frequency, notification details, exclusions, and backup options. Step-by-step documentation and installation videos are available. The plugin is multilingual and RTL ready; listed translations include Russian, Ukrainian, French, Italian, Arabic, German, and Spanish, and some may be incomplete.
