Total Upkeep Premium connects backups with WordPress recovery

Total Upkeep combines WordPress backups with utilities for restoration, migration, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Create backups manually or schedule them for a selected date and time. Each archive can include the full WordPress installation and database, or selected files, folders, and database tables. Before creating an archive, the add-on checks whether the web server has the features needed to make it properly, a check intended to help protect backup integrity.

Choose where backup archives are stored

Total Upkeep works with remote backups through FTP and SFTP. Premium adds automatic archive uploads to Amazon S3 and Google Drive, providing storage destinations outside the site installation.

Restore a site, file, or earlier version

From the Total Upkeep Dashboard, download, restore, or delete an archive with one click. Premium lets you restore a single file through the backup browser. Its Historical Versions capability lists backups containing a selected file so you can find and restore an earlier copy. Premium also includes a search for recently modified files, a way to save a copy before updating a file, and comprehensive update history.

If WordPress itself is corrupted or inaccessible, use the restoration script to restore a backup from outside WordPress. Auto rollback makes a backup before an update and restores the website to its last backup if the update fails.

Monitor errors and review diagnostics

Site Check checks the website at specified intervals for errors that could lead to a crash. When it detects an error, it can send an email alert and automatically restore the website using the latest backup. A historical error log and built-in diagnostic tools help investigate site issues.

Clone a site or prepare a staging site

To migrate a site, install Total Upkeep on both WordPress installations, create an archive on the source site, then restore it on the destination using a protected link. Total Upkeep with Cloud WordPress can also create staging sites for testing add-ons or themes.

Set up backups and monitoring

Install Total Upkeep on the WordPress site you want to protect. Choose a manual or scheduled backup, select the installation or content to include, and configure FTP, SFTP, Amazon S3, or Google Drive storage as needed. Set Site Check intervals if you want monitoring.
