Decide when Cash on Delivery is available
Restrictions can be enabled or disabled. An enabled restriction can allow COD only for specified selections; a disabled restriction can make it unavailable for those selections. The rules can use shipping zones and methods within zones, countries, states, postal codes, cities, visitor roles, cart products, product categories, and shipping classes. Postal code rules support ranges, and product rules support variations.
When COD is unavailable, you can display a message before the payment methods. Different restriction reasons can have different messages.
Set fees for checkout conditions
Set a standard extra fee and a separate fee for local pickup. Each can use a fixed amount or a percentage of the cart amount. You can also configure rounding and enable tax for the fee.
PRO adds conditional extra-fee scenarios based on country, shipping zone, shipping method, cart-amount thresholds, and order-pay handling. These conditions let the shop apply charges according to the delivery route, order value, or checkout situation.
Use order and customer details in rules
- Offer advance-payment COD options and import restrictions from CSV files.
- Apply conditions based on cart amount, product quantity, customer role, product stock, or backorder status.
- Use coupon conditions when controlling COD availability.
- Combine product, category, shipping, location, and customer criteria in the COD process.
These controls can help apply store policies to particular locations, order sizes, products, customer groups, or fulfillment situations.
Extend the existing WooCommerce gateway
Smart COD works with WooCommerce’s Cash on Delivery gateway. Developer filters are available to alter the extra fee, change the current COD restriction, and change the COD fee title: wc_smart_cod_fee, wc_smart_cod_available, and wc_smart_cod_fee_title.
Install and configure
Install the separate Smart COD PRO plugin in WordPress alongside WooCommerce, then configure its Cash on Delivery options. Define restrictions, messages, fees, and PRO conditions. Review checkout behavior for the shipping, customer, product, and order scenarios used by the store.
