Really Simple Featured Video PRO for WordPress

Really Simple Featured Video PRO handles featured videos for WordPress posts, pages, custom post types, and WooCommerce products. Use an embed from YouTube, Dailymotion, or Vimeo, or host a video file on your site. Enable video support for the content types you use in the add-on options.

Where can featured videos appear?

Compatible themes can show a video where they display a featured image. Videos can also appear on WooCommerce product pages and shop archives. The Featured Video block can show the current post, page, or product, or a various entry you select. Add the block yourself in the block editor or Site Editor, including in a template, Query Loop, or post content. When an entry has no video, the block can show its featured image or nothing.

Set player settings for each block, including controls, autoplay, loop, mute, picture in picture, and download. Autoplay on hover follows the global setting and can be turned on or off for the block. Alignment, margin, border radius, and shadow are available in the block’s style settings. Videos from draft, private, or password-protected entries are visible only to people who can view those entries.

For shortcode placements, [rsfv] shows the current entry’s featured video, while [rsfv_by_postid] displays the video for a selected post ID. Both shortcodes accept player options for controls, autoplay, loop, mute, picture in picture, download, and hover autoplay.

Builder and theme integrations

Use the dedicated Elementor Featured Video widget to place and tailor videos in a design. The add-on also supports Elementor Pro Posts/Archive and WooCommerce Product widgets, Bricks Posts/Archive custom widget components, and the Salient theme’s WPBakery Post Loop Builder element. WooCommerce support includes Astra Pro gallery modules with vertical and horizontal product galleries. Supported themes include newer core themes such as Twenty Twenty-Four and classic themes.

Manage videos and review activity

Video Tools provides a central place to manage featured videos across supported post types. Its Bulk Upload tab accepts video documents and embed links added by hand or imported from a CSV or TXT file. Each imported row needs a post; a row without one is discarded, and its file is not uploaded.

Video Analytics entries views and plays in your site’s database without setting a cookie. A view counts when the player is on screen, and a play counts when someone starts the video; hover previews do not count. The standard history covers the last 14 days. PRO adds longer history, watch time, completion data, and CSV export.

Create videos with Video Studio

Choose a template, edit its text, colors, font, and pictures, then preview and make the video. Templates can use details and photos from the post or WooCommerce product. Video Studio makes the file in your browser and saves it as the entry’s featured video in your Media Library with a poster image. The standard Video Studio has seven templates; PRO adds 20 more for topics such as shops, blogs, food, real estate, courses, events, local businesses, and portfolios. PRO also adds vertical and 4K sizes, music, a brand kit, every Google Font, larger uploads beyond your host’s limit, and video creation for many entries at once.

Video Studio requires Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on a secure HTTPS connection, and the browser tab must stay open while a video is being made. Safari can preview templates but cannot create videos. Templates, fonts, and scripts are bundled with the plugin; Video Studio runs in your browser and on your site.

PRO presentation controls

• Sticky Video: Add a play button that opens a popup player. PRO adds a story layout with tab bars for switching between videos.
