Start with your ACF fields
Create forms in the WordPress admin panel or programmatically. Add them to a website with Gutenberg blocks, or use the add-on’s hooks and helper functions for developer integrations. Documentation covers these settings.
While someone completes a form, calculated fields can update live from other field values. You can also program calculations for more complex requirements. AJAX submissions send the form without a page reload.
Choose what happens to submissions
- Keep entries: Save submissions with all their fields.
- Update posts: Create or edit posts, set the title, content, and status, and map existing ACF fields.
- Work with user accounts: Register visitors or let them edit their profiles, with automatic mapping of user fields.
You can configure an unlimited number of email notifications, with dynamic recipients and field includes. Slack can receive a message with all form data for each submission. Forms can also sign users up for a Mailchimp mailing list or send data through Zapier to thousands of third-party services.
Set access and spam controls
Built-in restrictions can cap total submissions, require users to be logged in, or limit when a form is available. Every form includes honeypot spam protection. For another option, Pro supports reCAPTCHA, including Google’s invisible captcha.
Requirements and setup
Install and activate ACF PRO version 5.7 or later on the WordPress website. Then create a form in the admin panel or in code, add the ACF fields it needs, and place it with a Gutenberg block. Configure the submission destination, notifications, access restrictions, calculations, integrations, or reCAPTCHA required for the process.
