Extend WordPress API connections
WPGet API PRO is a paid extension for WPGet API. The core add-on connects WordPress to external REST APIs without code. It can send data to APIs, retrieve data from unlimited third-party REST APIs, and display responses with a shortcode or template tag.
PRO adds settings for processes that use website events, changing values, multiple requests or structured responses. Install WPGet API alongside the extension.
Pass values and connect requests
Actions can automate API activity when an action happens on your website, connecting that event to an external service. Tokens let you grab dynamic data without code and send it to an API. The extension also includes dynamic variables, described as a PHP solution for grabbing values that change.
Chain API calls to connect steps in a process. You can also cache API calls to retain responses.
Work with returned data
WPGet API PRO can retrieve nested data from structured responses and format returned information as HTML for display on your site. It works with Base64 encoded authentication and XML format APIs.
WPGet API supports GET, POST, PUT, PATCH and DELETE methods, with query string, header and body parameters. Its authentication methods include API keys, bearer tokens, basic authentication, username and password, and OAuth 2.0 authorization. PRO workflows can combine these connection options with dynamic values, chained requests, caching and formatted output.
Display returned data with a shortcode or template tag. Examples include charts, graphs, tables and weather forecasts.
Related utilities and setup
WPGet API integrates with WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, WPForms, Gravity Forms and wpDataTables. Separate extensions can import API data into WooCommerce products or custom posts. An OAuth 2.0 Authorization plugin handles authorization through that method; these are additional add-ons, not functions of WPGet API PRO.
Install WPGet API and WPGet API PRO in WordPress. Configure the API connection, endpoint, authentication and request parameters, then add the PRO options your workflow needs. Display the returned data with a shortcode or template tag.
Documentation includes a quick start guide, a step-by-step example, articles and frequently asked questions about API connections and setup.
