JetBackup combines WordPress backup jobs with storage, restore, and migration utilities. Choose a full website backup or select documents, folders, database content, or a combination. Run jobs manually or on a schedule, then download, import, or restore a backup when needed.
Backups use TAR archives, require no extra libraries, and are designed for large sites, low-memory environments, and shared hosting. JetBackup Premium includes remote destinations and 24/7 support with a stated 15-minute service-level target.
Backup jobs, schedules, and storage
Set a frequency and time for scheduled backups. Multiple profiles let database and file backups run at various frequencies, while retention settings control how many backups to keep on the server. Premium works with off-website destinations including Amazon S3 and compatible services, FTP, SFTP, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, and pCloud. A remote destination stores a copy apart from the website server.
- Monitor live backup and restore progress, and cancel a backup while it is in progress.
- View backup and restore logs, download backup files, or delete stored backups.
- Run backups in low-priority background mode and receive email notifications of success or failure.
- Export backups to cPanel and DirectAdmin hosting control panels.
Restore and migrate WordPress websites
Restore an available backup through the one-click workflow, or upload a backup file through the import wizard. For WordPress Multisite, selective subsite restore is supported. Migration tools move a website across domains or hosting environments, with serialized data refactoring included. Server-level integration can also restore backups created by a hosting provider.
Installation requirements
Install and activate JetBackup in WordPress, then configure storage, backup contents, schedules, and retention. The stated minimums are WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4, with zlib and cURL required. A Linux-based server is recommended for optimal performance. Windows is supported, though known PHP issues may cause limitations.
