Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro

Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro calculates checkout prices from a table of rules you define. Set rates by weight range or by each unit of weight, then combine them with order value, destination, flat charges, handling fees or surcharges. Rates come from your table, so the method does not require a carrier account or rate service.

Shipping rules based on the cart

Weight Based Shipping for WooCommerce Pro calculates checkout prices from a table of rules you define. Set rates by weight range or by each unit of weight, then combine them with order value, destination, flat charges, handling fees or surcharges. Rates come from your table, so the method does not require a carrier account or rate service.

The calculation uses the combined weight of the products in the cart, counting each product’s weight according to its quantity. Rules use the weight unit configured for your shop, such as kilograms, grams, pounds or ounces. Products without a weight count as zero. Weight ranges include their lower bound and exclude their upper bound, so adjacent ranges can meet without a gap.

Weight, value and destination rates

Create tiered brackets with a price for each range, or charge a fixed amount per kilogram, pound or smaller weight increment. A rule can also add a flat amount, handling fee or surcharge. Rates can depend on order total and destination as well as weight, including different country rates in one table. WooCommerce shipping zones can target finer areas such as postcodes.

Several matching rules contribute to the price, so a handling fee can be added to a weight rate. Give alternative rules conditions that cannot both match when only one should apply.

Free shipping thresholds

Set free shipping based on a minimum order amount or weight conditions. Combine cart value and weight in a rule when the offer should stop applying to heavier orders. The paid rates can be bounded so the free-shipping rule applies beyond the chosen threshold.

Product-specific controls in Pro

Pro shipping classes let you target rates to product groups. Use a flat rate for one class, a per-weight charge for another, or a surcharge for products with different handling needs. Class rules can also determine which products ship free, which count toward the threshold, and whether one product makes the entire order free. You can exclude selected entries from a free-shipping offer and enable or disable shipping methods per product.

Pro includes rule mods for more control over matching rules:

  • Stop ends evaluation at the first matching rule.
  • Drop removes entries already priced by a rule from the remaining calculation.
  • Deny withholds a shipping method from orders that match the rule.
  • Require makes the method available only when its required rules match.

Split shipping and store setup

Pro can keep several rule tables in one shipping method. When separate tables price different parts of a cart, their prices are combined into one option for the customer. Add the method to a WooCommerce shipping zone and replace the starter table’s values with rules that use your store’s weight unit.

Pro also includes undo and redo, copy and paste for moving a table or selected rules between websites through the clipboard, value-threshold conversion when a supported currency switcher is active, and direct email support.
