More searchable fields help shoppers find catalog entries
- Attributes: Search attribute values such as color and size, including custom attributes, and display attribute archive results.
- Taxonomies: Search product taxonomy terms such as brands and show their archive pages.
- Custom fields: Search product field values, including fields created with ACF.
- Identifiers: Search by GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN.
- Variations and visitors: Search for and show product variations, or find store users and include their data in results.
Search results are ordered by relevance. The score can account for where terms appear, how often they occur, and whether the match is full or partial. Product data is stored in an index table; after the initial indexing, product changes synchronize automatically.
Matching rules shape which products appear
Choose AND logic to return products containing every search word, or OR logic to return products containing any of them. PRO also supports exact matching, automatic suggestions based on the current query, and rules to include or exclude products, archive pages or visitor results.
Word stemming handles various forms such as “execute” and “running.” Synonyms, stop words and misspelling correction help account for alternate terms and typos. Search terms can be highlighted in results.
Result settings control what shoppers see
Choose a results layout and form layout, set a maximum result count, and choose which product details appear, including images, prices, descriptions, SKUs, categories, tags and attributes. PRO can add an Add To Cart button, set the picture source, and filter products by catalog visibility or stock status.
Search tabs can show different result types with their own options. You can also make multiple separate search forms, each with its own settings. Built-in shortcodes display search forms, taxonomy results, suggestions and similar search terms.
Form placement connects search to the store
Add a search form with a widget, shortcode or supported page builder. The seamless integration option can replace existing search forms. Search results use the current theme’s results page and layout. The plugin also supports mobile layouts, Google Analytics and multilingual extensions such as WPML, Polylang, WooCommerce Multilingual, qTranslate and GTranslate.
Supported builders include Gutenberg, Elementor, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Breakdance Builder, Bricks Builder, Oxygen Builder, Divi Builder, Avada Builder and Flatsome UX Builder. PRO also integrates with marketplace add-ons including WCFM, Dokan and MultiVendorX, with options such as vendor and store searches, vendor labels and marketplace-specific result filters.
Initial indexing prepares product data for search
Install and activate the plugin, then start the initial index from its settings page and wait for it to finish. Choose search sources, result data, matching rules and layouts, then add the form and configure the store’s search results display. Product changes synchronize automatically after the initial indexing.
