Alt Magic Pro sends images to a cloud-based AI service, which analyzes image content and surrounding post context to generate descriptive alt text. Generate text for new uploads or individual images, or process existing media in bulk. You can review and edit generated wording before or after applying it.

For large libraries, use bulk processing or upload image lists by CSV. The service reports processing speeds above 10,000 images per hour for high-volume work. It includes 50 free monthly credits, with additional volume available.

Use product and page context

WooCommerce processes cover product images across large catalogs. Generation can use product information as context. For multilingual websites, Alt Magic Pro works with more than 150 languages. Where supported, it can also generate captions, titles, and descriptions. Verbosity controls and custom prompt tuning provide additional ways to guide output.

Keep image details organized

Optional AI image renaming creates descriptive filenames for existing images and new uploads. SEO plugin compatibility includes Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, Squirrly SEO, and AIOSEO. Alt Magic Pro also has a web app interface alongside its WordPress integration. It can scan Brilliant Directories pages, but you must upload the generated text to those images manually.

Account and data requirements

The add-on requires an active internet connection, an Alt Magic account, and an API key entered in the plugin options. Image documents or URLs are sent to the cloud service for processing; basic plugin usage events are also transmitted for service improvement. Review the service's privacy practices and terms before sending image data.

Set up image generation

1. Install the Alt Magic WordPress plugin and open its settings.
2. Enter the required API key.
3. Choose whether to process new uploads, existing media, or both.
4. Run an individual or bulk workflow, then review and edit the results.
