Business Directory Plugin: Listings, Search and Premium Plans

Build a flexible WordPress directory

Business Directory Plugin Premium Plans extend a WordPress listing manager and directory site builder for businesses, members, staff, companies, professionals, and other groups. Create a directory without writing code, then organize listings with custom fields, categories, images, search, and listing-owner editing.

The core directory can support many formats, including local business directories, real estate listings, services directories, company directories, association member directories, school staff directories, medical directories, and professional directories. Premium capabilities vary by plan, so you can select the level of functionality that fits your directory project.

Premium capabilities for richer listings

Paid annual plans add features such as Google Maps, ZIP code search, ratings and reviews, claim listings, and discount codes. Premium capabilities also include file uploads, allowing listing owners to attach PDFs, text documents, and images to their listings. Ratings and reviews can be connected to individual listings and include Schema.org markup.

Use these tools to make a directory more useful for users and listing owners. A location-based directory can use maps and ZIP code search to help people find nearby businesses. Reviews can add feedback to individual entries, while claim listings can support an ownership workflow for businesses that want to manage their information. Discount codes can be used as part of a directory promotion or listing offer.

Manage listings and directory content

Build listing forms with the fields your project needs, such as phone numbers, hours, price ranges, photos, and other information. Listing owners can edit their own listings without access to the WordPress dashboard. Image uploads support drag-and-drop uploading, reordering, primary picture options, and thumbnail sizing, with upload limits set by plan.

Import existing businesses, members, or staff from a spreadsheet in one upload instead of entering every listing manually. Display the main directory with the [businessdirectory] shortcode, or place selected categories and tags elsewhere with [businessdirectory-listings]. Featured, latest, random, and search widgets can add directory content to sidebar areas.

Offer free and paid listings

Set up free or paid listings, one-time or recurring plans, and various plans for different categories. This allows free and premium listings to appear together. Featured or sticky placement can be offered as a paid upgrade.

Stripe and Authorize.net process payments in the free add-on. Stripe uses pay-as-you-go pricing until you upgrade to a paid plan, while Authorize.net has no per-transaction fee. Directory plans and prices remain controlled from the WordPress dashboard.

Installation and setup

Install and activate the extension in WordPress, then use the setup notice’s Create required pages for me button. The directory page is created with the main shortcode already in place. Add the listing shortcode or widgets to other pages and sidebars, configure fields and plans, and import existing data when needed.

The directory is mobile-friendly and responsive with well-built WordPress themes, works with multilingual directories with WPML, and integrates with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, NavXT Breadcrumbs, and WP-PageNavi.
