xSpeed Pro WordPress Performance Plugin
xSpeed Pro saves pages as static HTML. On a cache hit, its static-file rewrite path serves the file before WordPress loads, bypassing PHP. The path works with Apache, nginx and LiteSpeed. The cache can purge automatically after publishing content, updates, comments or theme changes.
Static page delivery and cache rules
xSpeed Pro saves pages as static HTML. On a cache hit, its static-file rewrite path serves the file before WordPress loads, bypassing PHP. The path works with Apache, nginx and LiteSpeed. The cache can purge automatically after publishing content, updates, comments or theme changes.
- Purge the cache from the WordPress admin bar.
- Exclude URLs such as cart, checkout and account pages.
- Set cache expiry from 1 to 720 hours and maintain a separate cache for mobile visitors.
- Set cache rules and custom expiry for individual posts, or disable caching for a post.
Audit findings and controlled changes
The AI-powered site audit scans the specific site and identifies performance capabilities that may help, with severity ratings and concrete reasons. An optimization tool measures the website, applies recommended settings one at a time, checks the page after each change and reverts a change if it breaks the site. These steps help you review the result of each setting change.
Code and site optimization
Minification removes unnecessary whitespace, comments and characters from HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Other utilities include combining CSS and JavaScript, deferring or delaying JavaScript, asynchronous CSS loading, GZIP, lazy loading, font optimization and browser caching. xSpeed Pro also supports object caching, CDN delivery and database cleanup. Options to disable unused WordPress capabilities include frontend Dashicons, oEmbed, RSS feeds, XML-RPC, jQuery Migrate and REST API authentication headers.
MCP access and site management
The WordPress MCP server lets an AI assistant or other MCP client use performance tools through the same interface as the dashboard. Available operations include purging the cache, checking preloader status, running a score, optimizing the site, and reading or updating settings. Read-only connections remain read-only. Writing credentials requires explicit permission when connecting.
Command-line tools provide cache purge, preloader status, score runs, optimization, and settings list, get and update commands.
Getting started
Install xSpeed Pro on the WordPress site you want to optimize, then review the audit results and performance settings. Start with caching and recommendations that fit the site. Test changes with the available scoring and optimization tools, and configure exclusions for pages that should not be cached.
