Pre-Orders for WooCommerce Pro: Dated Releases, No Subscriptions

Pre-Orders for WooCommerce Pro lets clients order simple and variable products before they become available. You can also set the pre-order date when an order is placed.

Choose how checkout handles pre-orders

The selected mode determines how pre-order products and items available now are grouped and shipped:

  1. Keep the whole order together: Treat the entire order as a pre-order and ship all products together. Customers can choose a shipping date, with the earliest available date set by the latest pre-order date among the products.
  2. Separate by availability: Create one order for pre-order products and another for in-stock products. The in-stock items can be processed while the pre-order items wait for their release date.
  3. Create an order for each pre-order product: Keep in-stock products in one order and make a separate order for each pre-order product, scheduled for that product’s pre-order date.
  4. Keep availability types separate: Allow an order to contain pre-order products or available products, so customers choose one availability type per order.

Manage pricing and fulfillment

During the pre-order period, edit a product’s price by a fixed amount, a percentage, or a markup based on its base price. Pro also includes Pay Later for Pre-orders and fixed payment gateways for pre-order purchases.

Options for unified shipping and a pre-order transition status help manage fulfillment as orders move through the release process. You can also change product stock when the pre-order date expires.

Administer pre-orders in batches

A dedicated Pre-Orders section delivers a place to manage pre-order entries. Filter orders that include products bought during the pre-order phase, and use bulk selection to change existing pre-order dates and statuses. A WordPress bulk action can apply pre-order status to multiple products grouped by category.

Notify customers and administrators

Notify customers when a product’s pre-order period ends and it becomes available. Administrators can receive an email a set number of days before a pre-order period ends. You can add a custom message to pre-order products, use predefined email templates, and display a pre-order badge.

Set up a release process

Configure the pre-order status, button text, availability date, pricing, payment and shipping settings, messages, badge, and notification preferences for the products you plan to offer before release. Use the bulk utilities when updating multiple products or existing pre-order records.
