What Cimo Premium Adds to WordPress Media Optimization

Optimize media during upload and afterward

Cimo processes new pictures in the browser before they reach the WordPress Media Library. It can convert images to WebP, adjust WebP quality and maximum dimensions, control WordPress image scaling, and manage thumbnail generation.

Cimo Premium also lets you select existing images, videos, and audio in the Media Library for bulk optimization in one operation, without server-side processing. During new uploads, it processes video and audio before those documents reach the library. Options let you downscale video resolution and adjust audio quality.

For media submitted through forms, Premium automatically optimizes images, videos, and audio uploaded with Gravity Forms, WPForms, Ninja Forms, Formidable, and Fluent Forms.

Choose image options

Smart Optimization selects compression settings for each image to reduce manual adjustments. Under Settings > Cimo, you can set WebP quality and maximum image dimensions, control WordPress scaling and thumbnail generation, and view optimization statistics.

The Recommended preset sets WebP quality to 80%, limits image dimensions to 1920px, and disables thumbnail generation.

Manage image loading and the interface

For images in native image blocks, Low Quality Image Placeholders show a subtle placeholder while the full image loads, then fade in the image. Stealth Mode hides Cimo branding and interface elements while optimization continues in the background.

Editor and plugin compatibility

Cimo is intended to work with the native WordPress Block Editor, major page builders, and WooCommerce. Documented compatibility includes Elementor, Divi, Breakdance, Bricks Builder, Oxygen, Beaver Builder, WPBakery, Stackable, Spectra, Kadence, Greenshift, and GenerateBlocks. Divi support is partial; dropping files is not supported.

Get started

1. Install and activate Cimo Premium in WordPress.
2. Open Settings > Cimo and review the image, thumbnail, and scaling options.
3. Apply the Recommended preset or configure the settings manually.
4. Upload new media as usual, or select existing files for bulk optimization in the Media Library.
5. Enable form-add-on processing, video and audio options, placeholders, or Stealth Mode as needed.

Cimo works in modern Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Opera. In Safari, images are optimized in their original format; WebP conversion is not supported.
