Convert Markdown in the post editor

Ultimate Markdown Pro turns Markdown documents, text entered in the editor, and documents in its internal library into WordPress post content. Its tools work in the Block Editor sidebar and as meta boxes in the Classic Editor.

• Import Markdown uploads a file and converts it into post content.
• Load Markdown makes post content from a document in the internal library.
• Insert Markdown converts text pasted or typed in the editor.

The Pro edition includes import settings and automatic image uploads during import.

Keep Markdown documents in a library

Use the plugin menu to create, edit, and organize Markdown documents. You can bulk import one or more files into the library, export documents as downloadable files, or export the library as a ZIP archive. Pro adds further export options and document categories.

Configure conversion and automation

Choose among seven Markdown parser options for conversion in the editor panels and document preview. REST API support enables automation. Extended Front Matter uses YAML key-value pairs at the beginning of a Markdown document to configure post options through the available keys.

Open an editor panel to work with a file, a saved library document, or Markdown text. Use the document menu to manage the library and its imports and exports.
