Send Users Email Pro: WordPress Queues, Scheduling and Lists

Send Users Email Pro extends WordPress email utilities with options for larger, targeted, or planned campaigns. Choose recipients from site users, roles, custom groups, external contact lists, or a single outside email address. The add-on sends through WordPress’s wp_mail function, so it can work alongside other email plugins that hook into the same function.

Recipient options for different audiences

Send to selected users or one or more WordPress roles when the audience follows the website’s existing account structure. Pro groups let you organize members independently of roles, using a searchable multi-select. For contacts without WordPress accounts, import addresses in bulk from a CSV file and email the list. A single external address is also supported.

Administrators can select which other visitor roles may send through the extension. You can personalize messages with placeholders for a recipient’s username, first or last name, display name, user ID, or email address. Pro works with the same placeholders in subject lines.

Prepare and style messages

Write the subject and message in the WordPress rich text editor, then preview the email with placeholders filled in before sending. Pro includes reusable templates that save a subject and message, along with more than 15 pre-designed email themes. You can choose a default theme or upload a custom HTML and CSS template. The global email title and tagline can also be changed for an individual message.

The email settings include a branded header with a logo, title, and tagline, plus social links in the footer. Custom CSS can restyle the default responsive template. Set the sender name, sender email, and reply-to address to the details you want outgoing messages to use.

Delivery timing and entries

Send immediately, or use the queue to pace a large batch. The queue sends a configurable number of messages every five minutes through WP-Cron, and it can be set as the default for sends. Pro also lets you schedule queued emails for a specific future date and time. Queue activity charts and a separate 30-day queue email log help you review batch progress.

Pro lets users opt in or out of emails from their profiles, with an option to override that preference for a particular send. You can configure an SMTP server with its host, port, credentials, and TLS or SSL settings. Email delivery still depends on the mail provider, which may accept or block messages.

Sent-email history is configurable and keeps records for 90 days by default. The base tools log errors returned by wp_mail; those records can help diagnose sending problems in the WordPress administration area.

Typical workflow

Configure sender, reply-to, branding, styling, and SMTP details. Create groups or import external contacts, choose the audience, compose and preview the message, then send it immediately, queue it, or schedule it for later. Review the available email and queue logs afterward.
