Set up fields for the content you manage
Advanced Custom Fields lets you add fields to WordPress edit screens and select where they appear, including posts, pages, visitors, taxonomy terms, media and comments. ACF PRO adds utilities for repeated content, custom block development, flexible page layouts and shared field options.
Use the field builder to define the information a website needs, then assign fields to the relevant WordPress locations. Editors enter values in those screens. Developers can load and display the values in theme templates with ACF functions, from a single value to content assembled through a more complex query. ACF also lets you register custom post types and taxonomies through its interface.
Choose a structure for recurring or flexible content
- Repeater Field: Group subfields into sets that can be repeated for lists, grouped details or recurring sections.
- Flexible Content Field: Define layouts with their own subfields, then let editors assemble page sections from the available settings.
- ACF Blocks: Develop custom block types for the WordPress Block Editor, also known as Gutenberg, using a PHP-based framework.
Manage shared settings and images
- Options Page: Add custom administration pages for editing ACF fields and managing information outside individual posts or pages.
- Gallery Field: Create picture galleries in WordPress content editing screens.
- Clone Field: Reuse existing fields and field groups when similar settings are needed in multiple places.
These tools fit various content needs. A Repeater Field can organize recurring items, while Flexible Content lets editors choose from defined page layouts. ACF Blocks support custom block development for teams building their own Block Editor components. The Options Page keeps shared information in its own administration location.
Install and configure ACF PRO
Install ACF PRO in the WordPress website where you want to manage custom fields. Create field groups, choose where they appear, and configure the PRO functions the project needs. Documentation and developer guides cover building with ACF. The ACF Community Forums let users search existing questions or start a discussion; a reply from the support team is not guaranteed.
