How a YouTube feed works
Feeds for YouTube Pro includes ways to organize channel videos and help visitors browse them in WordPress. The plugin uses the YouTube API to retrieve and show videos. It adds the video player after a user interacts with the feed, so the player iframe does not load with the initial page view.
Choose how visitors find videos
- Live streams: Use the YouTube Live API to show live streaming videos.
- Search and filters: Display videos from search results or filter videos by keywords in their titles and descriptions.
- Combined feeds: Bring multiple feeds into one display.
- Carousel galleries: Present videos in a carousel slider.
- Video completion actions: Set an action for when a video ends, such as showing a product-page link or thumbnails of other videos.
- Custom post type data: Download video data into a custom post type so visitors can browse and view the videos on your website.
Fit the feed to its page
Depending on the selected display, videos can appear in a list, gallery, grid or carousel. Feeds can inherit your theme’s styles and adapt across screen sizes. Place multiple feeds on different pages or in widgets, and use the built-in header and Load More button to help visitors browse. Custom CSS or JavaScript is available when the standard settings do not provide enough control.
