Keep schedules with event entries

Event Organiser Pro is the Pro edition of Event Organiser, a WordPress event-management add-on. It uses WordPress custom post type functionality so event records sit alongside posts, with their own timing and venue details. Administrators can manage events in a list view or a calendar view. Categories and tags organize individual activities and ongoing programmes, including classes, meetings, performances, and other scheduled occasions.

Define dates and recurring rules

Create a one-time event or set a recurring pattern over a specified time range. Events can last for an arbitrary period. Rules can describe dates such as the third Tuesday of every fourth month or the sixteenth day of every month. When a programme changes, add or remove particular dates, or delete one occurrence if that date is cancelled. Expired events can optionally be removed automatically.

Connect venues to public displays

Maintain venues with the full content editor and Google Maps support. A venue page can list events assigned to that location. Colour-coded categories help users distinguish activity types. Public event pages can use pretty permalinks, with archive pages for years, months, and days.

Widgets provide calendars, event lists, and agendas. Limit an event list by quantity, category, or venue. Shortcodes offer a full calendar with category and venue filters, along with event lists, agendas, and venue maps. Month, week, and day calendar views are available where the relevant shortcode works with them.

Publish feeds and manage access

Visitors can subscribe to public event feeds, including feeds for events at a particular venue or in a category. Subscription settings include Google and Webcal links. Events can be imported from or exported to ICAL files. Relative date queries can retrieve events that finished recently or begin within a future period.

Custom permissions determine which WordPress roles may make, edit, or delete events and manage venues. Developers can use event functions that extend familiar post functions to output details such as start date-time and venue. The event post type follows the WordPress template hierarchy, so default templates can be overridden for a theme's presentation.

Set up the event schedule

Install Event Organiser Pro on the WordPress site used to manage the event catalogue. Create venues, enter event details, define schedules, and assign categories or tags. Place calendars, lists, agendas, maps, or subscription links on website pages with the available widgets and shortcodes. Review role permissions and public archive pages before publishing.
