WP Offload Media Pro: WordPress Media Offloading
WP Offload Media Pro copies pictures, videos, documents, and other files added through the WordPress media uploader to Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, or Google Cloud Storage. It replaces each media URL with the remote storage URL. When CloudFront or another CDN is configured, the file can use that delivery URL, including a custom domain if configured. Image thumbnails are copied and delivered through the corresponding remote URL too.

How uploads reach remote storage
New files go to the WordPress server first, then the plugin copies them to the selected storage service. Direct uploads to Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, or Google Cloud Storage are not supported. An option can remove local files after they have been copied to the bucket.
Existing files and Media Library controls
The standard upload process handles new files; it does not copy existing Media Library files to remote storage or serve them from the bucket. The Pro upload tool handles those existing files. Pro also includes controls for offloaded files from the WordPress Media Library.
CDN delivery and integrations
When configured, CloudFront or another CDN can deliver offloaded media. The Pro upgrade also includes the Assets Pull addon, which can serve CSS, JavaScript, and font files through CloudFront or another CDN.
Pro includes integrations for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads, plus priority email support. Email support is not provided for the free version. WP Offload Media does not include picture optimization, but its integration with EWWW Image Optimizer is officially supported.
Setup sequence
- Add WP Offload Media Pro to the WordPress site and choose Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces, or Google Cloud Storage as the destination.
- Configure CloudFront or another CDN if remote files should be served through it.
- For an established site, use the Pro upload tool to handle the existing Media Library. Continue adding new files through the WordPress media uploader.
