WP Meta and Date Remover Pro

Choose where information is hidden

WP Meta and Date Remover Pro handles author and date information on WordPress posts and pages. In the add-on settings, select whether removal applies on the frontend, in the backend page source, or in both places.

CSS changes show; PHP filters output

The CSS method registers styles that conceal information inside the theme’s metadata class. This changes what appears on the page, while the information may remain in the page source. If details remain visible, find the metadata CSS class in the theme and adjust the supplied CSS through the plugin editor or settings.

The PHP method filters results from functions such as get_date() and get_time(). It removes metadata from the source code and delivers an alternative when CSS does not produce the desired result.

Pro controls for selected content

The Visual Remover provides an editor for hiding or removing content from WordPress pages. Pro also includes controls for custom post types, category exclusions, and individual posts. An older-post option can limit date removal to older posts.

For Yoast SEO schema, the plugin can remove the datePublished and dateModified fields.

Deprecated custom snippet option

The plugin also describes a deprecated customization path. It lets you manage code from the settings and wrap code in theme HTML with a provided custom function, whose behavior can then be controlled in the settings.

Set up and adjust the removal

Install and activate the plugin, open its settings, choose frontend, backend page source, or both, then save. If information remains visible, check the theme’s metadata CSS class and adjust the supplied CSS. Search engines may take time to reflect page changes; resubmitting the sitemap in webmaster utilities is also suggested.
