TIV Globus for Manual WordPress Translations

Manage language versions in WordPress

TIV Globus is the Pro edition of WPGlobus and the successor to WPGlobus Plus and WooCommerce WPGlobus. Choose one or more languages, then enter translations yourself. The add-on does not translate text automatically.

Translate posts, pages, custom post types, titles, content, excerpts, categories, tags, menus, and widgets. You can also translate the Site Title and Tagline, along with SEO titles and meta descriptions compatible with the free version of Yoast SEO.

Language addresses and switching

Configure each language with a country flag, locale, and display name, and give it its own URL structure, such as /es/ or /fr/. TIV Globus also lets you translate a page's full address, including its slug, for example /fr/ma-page/ or /es/mi-pagina/.

Visitors can switch languages using a drop-down menu extension or a customizable widget with display options. Administrators can change the WordPress interface language from the top bar.

Pro features

  • Translate WooCommerce products, categories, and attributes.
  • Use page builders such as Elementor and Avada in each language.
  • Use the multilingual utilities with or without WooCommerce.

TIV Globus replaces WPGlobus while retaining existing options and translations.

Setup and compatibility

Configure languages and display options in the add-on settings, then add translations to the relevant content fields. The website needs pretty permalinks; the Plain permalink structure is not supported. For WooCommerce, set store bases explicitly. Leaving them blank can cause WooCommerce to translate a base and produce 404 errors.

Compatibility with themes and add-ons depends on how they display text. Components that use standard WordPress filters can be translated, while add-ons that render their own output may need changes. Multisite mode is not tested or officially supported.

The plugin uses a browser cookie to remember a user's language preference. It stores only the language code, such as en or es, and no personal information.

Before deactivation or removal

Translations are stored together in a special format. If the plugin is inactive, language versions can appear together and make the website unreadable. Before deactivating or uninstalling it, use the cleanup tool in the plugin settings to remove all languages except one.
