Choose a placement and design

Add a shortcode to a post, page, or widget, insert the WordPress block, or use the Elementor widget or Bricks element. Choose from seven built-in designs, including a monthly calendar view, compact and column-based layouts, and events grouped by day. For a custom presentation, use Shortcode Variables or templates. You can place multiple shortcodes on one page with different options, and the add-on works with any WordPress theme.

For example, this shortcode shows up to eight events in the festival category: [ecs-list-events cat="festival" limit="8"].

Filter the events shown

Set listings to include events from selected categories or tags, a particular month or year, a specific day or date range, or the next number of days. Location filters can use a city, state, or country. You can also show only featured events. The user filter bar lets visitors narrow the events they see.

  • Choose whether to show previous events or conceal events after their start time.
  • Show only the first instance of a recurring event.
  • Display the full event description instead of an excerpt, or show only the start time.

Control listing details

Use pagination to let visitors view additional pages of events. Choose whether to show dates, venues, thumbnails, excerpts, and a link to view all events. You can also change the order of event details in the listing.

Install and configure

First, make sure The Events Calendar Plugin is installed and contains the events you want to show. Then install and activate The Events Calendar Shortcode & Block Pro. Add a shortcode, block, Elementor widget, or Bricks element where the listing should appear, and configure its design, filters, visible details, and visitor controls. Preview the page and adjust the settings to suit the listing. Pro includes premium support for add-on questions.
