Specific Content For Mobile Pro for Device-Specific Content
Specific Content For Mobile Pro lets you make a mobile version of a WordPress page or post while keeping its public URL unchanged. The add-on selects the desktop or mobile content for that URL based on the visitor’s device. It does not redirect users or generate AMP markup. A separate mobile version can help when responsive styling alone does not meet a particular page’s needs.

Create and preview a mobile version
In the WordPress admin area, open Pages and find the entry you want to adapt. Choose Create mobile version from its action links, or select the plus icon in the devices column. Edit the mobile version and save it. Follow the same steps under Posts to create a mobile version of a blog post.
Logged-in users can access an additional mobile-version URL for testing. Logged-out visitors use the original public URL, where the add-on shows content for their device.
Pro controls for mobile publishing
Pro extends the page and post process with these settings:
- Create mobile versions for all supported queriable post types.
- Load a different theme specifically on mobile devices.
- Unload specific add-ons only on mobile devices.
- Choose whether tablets count as mobile devices.
- Use different navigation on mobile.
- Write specific content depending on the device.
- Access premium support.
Metadata and cache behavior
By default, desktop and mobile versions share post metadata. Saving either version synchronizes its metadata with the other. A setting lets mobile versions keep their own metadata, with synchronization choices for the most popular SEO extensions.
If your website uses server caching, configure separate cache handling for mobile devices. Without that distinction, cached mobile content could also appear on desktop. Caching plugins with mobile-cache management can handle the separation. Do not configure mobile redirects for this plugin.
Templates and developer integration
Developers can place custom mobile template files in wp-content/scfm/ or the theme’s scfm folder. Theme support and integration hooks are documented for blog content, metadata synchronization, and related mobile or desktop post IDs.
