Leverage Browser Caching Pro for WordPress Performance

Leverage Browser Caching Pro brings browser cache options and other WordPress performance controls into one add-on. Its settings page lets you manage cache durations, compression, code and media options, database cleanup, and website utilities. WooCommerce optimization is also included for stores.

Configure cache and compression

Set how long supported pictures, web fonts, stylesheets, scripts, documents, data, and other documents remain in a visitor's browser cache. Additional options include GZIP compression, Cache-Control headers, Keep-Alive, and ETag removal. Use testing services such as Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, Pingdom Website Speed Test, WebPageTest, and YSlow to review performance recommendations.

Adjust code and media loading

  • Minify CSS, JavaScript, and HTML.
  • Delay JavaScript loading.
  • Lazy load images and iFrames.
  • Optimize Google Fonts.

Manage database and website settings

Pro also includes database cleanup, DNS prefetch, preload links, Heartbeat Control, and XML-RPC Disable. These settings cover routine maintenance and WordPress configuration, with WooCommerce optimization for online stores.

Check the server requirements

The underlying browser caching requires an Apache server with mod_expires enabled and a writable .htaccess file in the WordPress root directory. It does not work on Nginx or IIS. The base plugin applies browser caching automatically; Pro includes a settings page for managing its available features. The Pro offer includes premium support and updates.

Install and use the plugin

  1. Install Leverage Browser Caching Pro in WordPress.
  2. Activate the plugin.
  3. Open its settings page.
  4. Choose the cache, compression, code, media, database, and site options that fit your website.
  5. Review performance with your preferred testing service.
