Security Ninja Pro: WordPress Security Tools

Security Ninja Pro extends the Security Ninja WordPress toolkit with traffic and login controls, malware response, hardening settings, and recurring security reviews. The base add-on includes an 8G-based firewall for common malicious requests, more than 50 security tests, vulnerability and core integrity scanners, and a basic Events Logger. Pro adds controls for responding to findings and reviewing security activity over time; scan results do not establish that every threat has been found.

Security Ninja Pro controls

Security Ninja Pro extends the Security Ninja WordPress toolkit with traffic and login controls, malware response, hardening settings, and recurring security reviews. The base add-on includes an 8G-based firewall for common malicious requests, more than 50 security tests, vulnerability and core integrity scanners, and a basic Events Logger. Pro adds controls for responding to findings and reviewing security activity over time; scan results do not establish that every threat has been found.

Cloud firewall and IP management

The free firewall uses 8G rules to block common malicious requests and bot noise. Pro adds a cloud firewall and advanced Web Application Firewall controls that can block IP addresses from a database of more than 600 million known bad IPs. Country blocking and IP Management let administrators restrict additional traffic. The cloud firewall also whitelists known third-party service IPs, reducing the chance that remote maintenance, monitoring, or optimization services are blocked. Administrators can add IP addresses and CIDR ranges manually.

Malware and integrity scanning

The Advanced Malware Scanner checks WordPress core, plugins, and themes for malicious code and suspicious documents, with cleanup actions for detected entries. The vulnerability scanner highlights known issues in add-ons and themes, while the core integrity scanner flags modified or unexpected files in WordPress core folders. Pro adds scheduled scans and reports so these checks can execute on a recurring schedule.

Login protection and hardening

Login protection can limit failed attempts, change the login URL, and add two-factor authentication (2FA), which requires an additional verification step at sign-in. One-click fixes on the Fixes page include options such as disabling XML-RPC, restricting file editing, and hiding PHP error messages. Review each setting before applying it because a change may affect a workflow or integration that relies on that capability.

Event logs and scheduled reports

The base plugin logs firewall events and successful or failed login attempts. Pro expands the Events Logger with security log exports, scheduled email reports, webhooks such as Slack or Discord notifications, and deeper alerting. Scheduled scans can run daily, weekly, or monthly, with reports sent by email.

Set up a recurring security review

  1. Install and activate Security Ninja Pro on the WordPress website.
  2. Open the Security Ninja dashboard and review the available security tests, scanner results, and current events.
  3. Configure the cloud firewall, IP or country controls, login protection, and 2FA as needed.
  4. Review one-click fixes before applying them, then configure scheduled scans, reports, log exports, or webhooks.
