Manage documents from the WordPress backend
File Manager Pro Edition brings file and folder operations into WordPress. Upload, download, copy, move, rename, edit, delete, and organize items from one interface. Drag and drop files, select multiple items, switch between list and icon views, search folders, revisit browsing history, or use keyboard shortcuts.
You can set the root directory to reach files inside or outside the WordPress installation. Previews and picture thumbnails help identify supported files, and the Get Info option shows file details and properties.
Access controls for users and folders
Assign private folders to different visitor roles or individual users. Set which file operations roles and users can perform, and hide or lock selected files and folders for them. File type rules can control uploads and downloads, while upload size limits can be configured for the process.
Shortcodes with custom attributes make the file manager available on the frontend. File upload, download, and edit email notifications are also supported.
Edit, archive, and preview files
Create and extract ZIP, RAR, TAR, and GZIP archives. File utilities also support creating folders and files, copying or moving items, renaming, editing, and deleting them. The built-in code editor has multiple themes and a configurable fullscreen view; its syntax checker can review code for errors before saving.
Preview supported file types, including video, audio, and MP3 files. PDF previews and image thumbnails are available. You can calculate directory sizes, share files by email, and move deleted items to the built-in trash before removing them.
Media library, backups, and device support
Upload pictures, PDFs, and ZIP files to selected folders and make them available in the native WordPress Media Library. Backup and restore tools cover theme files, plugin files, the uploads folder, and database data on the server. FTP/SFTP support is included for those file processes.
The interface is designed for desktop, tablet, and mobile use, with multiple themes, list and icon views, previews, and drag-and-drop uploads.
