Configure the dashboard and frontend
Open the AdminBar Editor page and select Backend or Frontend. In Backend, toggle core items such as the WordPress logo menu, website name, Visit Site link, updates, comments, and the New menu. You can also manage built-in submenu entries, including Post, Media, Page, and User, and reorder backend items with drag-and-drop handles.
In Frontend, manage the toolbar shown on public pages and choose which items appear. A global setting can disable the frontend admin bar. Where applicable, you can also show or conceal it for logged-in users or guests. Advanced settings let you move the toolbar to the top or bottom of the screen; the position applies to both views.
Pro controls for users, menus, and styling
Pro lets you hide the frontend admin bar for selected user roles or individual usernames while leaving it visible for others. You can add custom top-level menu items and submenu links with your own titles and URLs, giving teams or clients shortcuts to relevant dashboards, documentation, utilities, or external services.
Pro styling settings include a custom background color or gradient, toolbar text color, dropdown appearance, and the style and color of the New button.
Save and restore your layout
Toggle items, arrange them with drag handles, and save your settings. The configuration is stored in the database and retained through extension updates. Deactivating the plugin restores the default WordPress admin bar; reactivating it restores the saved layout and options.
Installation
Install the free Admin Bar Editor plugin, then install Admin Bar Editor Pro alongside it. Activate the Pro plugin and its license to unlock Pro features. Open the AdminBar Editor page to configure the backend, frontend, and advanced settings.
