Author profiles beside WordPress content
Starbox Pro includes visual author boxes to WordPress posts and pages. Place a box above or below the content, select whether it appears on posts, pages, or both, and set a default theme or personalize the presentation for each author. Boxes can also appear on the plugin’s author pages.
Profile details and presentation
An author profile can include a name, job title, company with a link, and a biography displayed in paragraphs. Authors can upload an picture instead of using Gravatar. Boxes can link to an author’s articles and display that author’s latest posts. You can hide boxes for selected authors or suppress another author box to prevent duplicates. Starbox is also compatible with WooCommerce and other e-commerce plugins.
Each author can have a different set of clickable social profile links. Listed services include Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, and Vimeo. The add-on listing describes Google Authorship and Facebook Authorship settings, with Google and Facebook accounts entered in each author’s profile. Its technical capability list also names HTML5 and Google Microformats, including vCard, for author information.
Shortcodes for specific author boxes
Add [starbox] to a post or widget to display an author box. Use the id option to specify an author by username or visitor ID, desc to provide a custom description, and theme to select a theme. For example, [starbox id="login_name" desc="custom description" theme="business"] sets those options. To show multiple authors, list their usernames or IDs separated by commas, as in [starbox id="john, david"] or [starbox id="1,2,3"].
Setup
After installing Starbox Pro, add profile details and social accounts for the authors. Choose the box placement, theme, and whether it should appear on posts, pages, or both. Use a shortcode in a post or widget when you need to specify an author, description, theme, or multiple contributors.
