WordPress email styling and message coverage
WP Email Template Pro and WP Email Template Premium are paid editions of WP Email Template. They apply a responsive HTML template to WordPress emails and messages from supported add-ons that pass through wp_mail(). Common uses include customer messages, administrative notifications, store emails, form submissions, and security alerts.
The template is described for show in Apple iOS, Microsoft Outlook, Hotmail, Apple Mail, Yahoo! Mail, Google Gmail, Android, Windows Live Desktop, and Mozilla Thunderbird.
Template layout controls
Settings let you enable or disable the template, change its width from the 600px default, select a background colour, and toggle a background pattern. You can upload and position a header picture, set its container background, border, and padding, add footer content in the WordPress editor, and add social media links in a follow-us section. The Pro version adds dynamic style settings.
When the template is off, you can still use the add-on's sender configuration without applying the HTML layout to every message.
Email sending provider options
Configuration choices include SMTP through your server, Gmail SMTP, Mandrill through its API or SMTP, and SparkPost through its HTTP API or SMTP API. The plugin brings these settings together with template management; the selected provider handles email delivery.
Supported extensions and compatibility limits
Supported plugin email output includes Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, Formidable Forms, WooCommerce, WP e-Commerce, BackupBuddy, and Wordfence. WooCommerce emails can be excluded by default or included for consistent store branding. WP e-Commerce customer and administrator emails are supported.
A plugin that applies its own HTML email template may conflict with this template. Messages sent through the php() function are not covered; the template applies to messages that pass through wp_mail().
Installation and setup
- Install and activate the plugin.
- In the WordPress administration dashboard, open the WP Email menu.
- Open the Template submenu and add your styling.
- Open the Send WP Mail submenu and configure the preferred email sending provider.
Choose a Pro or Premium edition for the advanced paid styling options. Configure the design and sending method in the same administration workflow, then use the template with supported WordPress and plugin-generated emails.
