Prime Mover PRO WordPress Backup and Migration

Prime Mover PRO extends the Prime Mover backup and migration process for single-site and multisite WordPress installations. From the WordPress admin area, create, manage, transfer, and restore packages for moves between hosts, servers, domains, local environments, and live environments.

Set backup schedules and package contents

Schedule automatic backups for single-website or multisite installations. Adjust migration parameters for the task, and exclude add-ons, upload-directory documents, or unused database tables created by inactive add-ons. On multisite, plugin exclusions can include network-activated plugins. Excluding upload files can reduce package size.

Encryption can cover the database, media directory, add-on files, and theme files inside a backup or migration package. The backup location can be moved outside the WordPress public directory.

Choose a transfer route

Packages can move directly from site to site, or through external storage. Dropbox works with package export and restoration. Google Drive supports saving and restoring packages.

• Move a single site into an existing multisite subsite.
• Move a multisite subsite to another multisite subsite or to a single-site installation.
• Export and restore a multisite main site.

Manage multisite migration and restoration

Create a new multisite subsite with a specific blog ID. Network maintenance can be disabled so only the affected subsite enters maintenance mode. The plugin supports legacy multisites and includes complete restoration settings, with access to basic and advanced options.

Database migrations can move between non-UTF8 and standard UTF8 character sets, including utf8mb4.

Installation and compatibility

Install and activate Prime Mover PRO in WordPress, then use its administration screens to create, manage, transfer, or restore packages. It works with Nginx, Apache, LiteSpeed, Microsoft IIS, and localhost environments. The stated PHP support range is 5.6 to 8.5+, and Google Drive requires PHP 7.4 or later.
