Plans set billing terms and access
Create hierarchical plans with free or paid memberships, one-time or recurring terms, custom durations, free trials, sign-up fees, and discount codes. You can also set subscriptions to end after a specified number of billing cycles. Restrict full posts and pages, custom post types, Gutenberg blocks, or selected portions of content according to login status or subscription plan. The Elementor integration applies restrictions to sections and widgets. Global Content Restriction can extend rules to post types, taxonomies, and terms; bbPress includes restrictions for forums and topics.
Members register and manage accounts
Shortcodes and blocks provide front-end registration, login, account, payment history, and password recovery processes:
[pms-register]lets users register and select a membership level.[pms-login]shows a member login form.[pms-account]provides an account area for editing details and managing subscriptions.[pms-payment-history]displays a member’s payment history.[pms-recover-password]provides password recovery.
Members can manage subscription plans from their account. Administrators can review member plans, edit subscription details, and track payment statuses and logs. Member entries and payment history can be exported as CSV documents.
Payment and shop workflows
The plugin works with recurring payments through PayPal or Stripe, with card payments processed through Stripe. Its WooCommerce integration can restrict shop or product viewing and purchasing by login status or plan, apply plan-based product discounts, and let customers purchase membership plans through WooCommerce Checkout. Configure the relevant payment gateway or WooCommerce process for the functions you use.
Add-ons determine extra capabilities
The add-on catalog includes Email Reminders, Advanced Subscription Toolkit, LearnDash, bbPress, Global Content Restriction, Navigation Menu Filtering, Fixed Period Membership, and Pay What You Want. These extensions cover automated member reminders, additional subscription rules, menu visibility by member status or plan, subscriptions ending on a set date, and flexible payments or donations.
Listed Pro add-ons are available with Agency and PRO versions. They include gift subscriptions, pausing recurring subscriptions, multiple currencies, pro-rated upgrades and downgrades, tax and EU VAT options, group memberships, content dripping, and multiple subscriptions per visitor. Other listed extensions include order bumps, invoices, file restriction, Mailchimp, Brevo, and Authorize.Net. Check the applicable version when selecting an add-on.
Additional listed tools include automatic refunds from the WordPress dashboard, automatic login, admin bar hiding, account-sharing prevention, default WordPress page redirects, and reCAPTCHA v2 or v3 for forms. The Pay What You Want add-on can accept donations or flexible subscription payments.
Installation and setup
Install Paid Membership Subscriptions Pro in WordPress and activate it. Create the subscription plans and member-facing pages, then add the registration, login, account, restriction, and payment-history shortcodes or blocks you need. Configure WooCommerce, Elementor, or relevant add-ons for those workflows, and test the member journey from registration through subscription access.
