Record picture details
Image Source Control Premium helps publishers, creators, photographers, illustrators, and site teams manage image sources, copyright holders, licenses, captions, and AI-generated image details in WordPress. It covers content, galleries, featured images, archive pages, Media Library documents, and selected block or builder contexts.
Choose where credits appear
Show image sources below page content, place a list manually, or embed a complete credit list with thumbnails. Per-page lists can be attached automatically or added with a shortcode or PHP function. Sources can also appear on archive pages. Credit shows can cover images in content, galleries, shortcode-based images, and featured images.
Caption overlays can appear above or below an image, with controls for layout and position. Show the full source or reveal it after a click or mouseover. Link to the copyright holder and, where applicable, to the image license.
Manage sources, licenses, and AI labels
- Add multiple links to a source string, and manage credits for images hosted outside the Media Library, including images without file extensions.
- Manage available licenses, show them, and link to them. IPTC copyright metadata can appear in the backend and serve as a standard frontend source.
- Mark images with AI, AI-generated, or AI-manipulated icons. For AI descriptions, show an icon alone or add description text in the image source field.
Use Media Library utilities
Add credits to Media Library images and use dedicated source fields for Image, Cover Image, Featured Image, and Media & Text blocks. Assign a centrally defined source, hide sources for selected images, show a specific source such as your name, or use the uploader’s name. Missing-source warnings help identify incomplete entries.
The Indexer searches images in published content in one operation. Premium can list credits for images outside content, show image usage in image details and the Media Library List view, bulk-edit copyright information, preview credits, and display a standard picture credit when no source is selected. Filter the Media Library for images with or without sources, or for images using the standard source.
Global lists and supported contexts
Choose which data appears in the Global List, include only images with a proper source, and display the list as a table or simple list. Premium also works with Elementor background images, images in Kadence Blocks Galleries, and Kadence Related Content Carousel. Developer settings are available for overlay captions on CSS background images.
Installation
Install Image Source Control Premium in WordPress alongside the Image Source Control workflow. Add source details to Media Library files, then configure how credits, captions, licenses, and AI labels appear. Review the available frontend and backend options before publishing image credits.
