Fatal Error Notify Pro for WordPress Error Alerts

Fatal Error Notify Pro sends email alerts when it detects a fatal error or another PHP error level you choose. It can report an error on an individual page or process, which helps surface problems that may not take the whole site offline.

After a add-on or theme update, a recorded error can point to a problem to investigate. Notifications help you see these errors as they occur.

How detection and exclusions work

The plugin hooks into PHP’s shutdown function and sends a notification just before a page stops loading. A 500 Internal Server Error can still trigger PHP shutdown actions. If the website is completely offline, detection and notification work in most cases.

Choose which PHP error levels generate notifications. To exclude particular errors, use the fen_ignore_error filter. Its error data includes the PHP error code (type), message, file path, and line number. You can use those details to target an exclusion.

Pro notifications and integrations

Pro includes Slack notifications, logging for recorded errors, multisite support, out-of-memory handling, the option to hide plugin options, and controls to pause individual notifications.

It also integrates with Gravity Forms, WooCommerce, WPForms, WP Fusion, and WP Mail SMTP. Fatal Error Notify Pro can send notifications when errors are logged in those add-ons.

Manage settings with WP-CLI

WP-CLI lets you inspect or update plugin settings with get_option and update_option. For example, you can check whether Slack notifications are enabled or change the notification email address.

To update an option across multiple websites, pass a site list to the command with xargs. For settings stored as arrays, such as error levels or selected plugins, provide a JSON-formatted value. Use get_option first to inspect the value you plan to change.

Configure error notifications

Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then open Settings → Fatal Error Notify to set the notification email address, pick error levels, and adjust notification options. Configure Slack, multisite, or supported integrations as needed. Use WP-CLI when you want to manage settings from the command line.
