Category Posts Block Premium for Flexible WordPress Post Displays

If a list shows unexpected posts, check its category or term source and filter rules; these determine which posts qualify. If the posts are right but their presentation needs adjustment, review the template, layout, thumbnail, and text options. Each block has its own configuration, so separate sections on one page can use different sources and display rules.

Choose the posts to display

Set a category or term source, then use Premium filters to combine conditions with ANY, NOT, or AND logic. Filters can include post status, such as published, scheduled, or private posts. A post offset can help sequence results across multiple blocks. Date settings include a date range and a format that shows time since publication.

The block works with custom post types, including events and products. Templates can use custom fields, and editor toolbar buttons can insert shortcodes.

Set the layout and images

Choose an auto-sizing grid, an asymmetrical list, a responsive masonry grid, a full background picture, an image slider, or a news ticker. Thumbnail controls include width and height, fluid sizing, CSS cropping with object-fit, optional hover effects, and default thumbnails. One dimension can be left empty. You can hide posts without thumbnails, hide widget text when no posts appear, and select whether the thumbnail or the whole entry links to the post.

Control each post item

The Template area defines the content inside each item. Templates can combine post-detail placeholders with plain text, HTML, or HTML for SVG icons. Font icons are supported, and WordPress Dashicons can be used without adding another font-icon resource.

Available post details include the title, excerpt, date, author, and comment count. Choose the title heading level, set the excerpt length, and limit title or excerpt lines with line clamping.

Configure a block

Add Category Posts Block Premium in Gutenberg or the Site Editor, choose a category or term source, then configure the filter and presentation panels. Select a layout, define the template, adjust thumbnails and text, and set footer or load-more behavior. Add separate blocks when page sections need different settings. A load more button can use the Ajax API to fetch additional posts without including the full list at first load.

Installation

Install the Premium edition in your WordPress website and add the block through Gutenberg or the Site Editor. For a move from the free plugin, the supplied installation guidance says to remove it before installing the Pro version.
