How WordPress content becomes channel posts

AutoSocial is the Pro edition that extends the core functionality of Auto Publish for Google My Business with publishing support for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. It can automatically publish WordPress posts, pages and custom post types.

In the add-on settings, select eligible content types, filter entries by category and schedule posts. Set a default share message, with shortcodes if needed. For an individual entry, override the default sharing action. You can also disable automatic publishing by default and choose which items to share.

What Google My Business posts use

For Google My Business publishing, the WordPress post’s featured image is used as the post image, and its link becomes the call-to-action link. Event posts can include a start date and an end date. This publishing process uses the Google My Business API.

How location and item choices work

AutoSocial supports multiple Google My Business locations. Select the locations used by the add-on, set default locations and choose destinations for individual posts. A post-level control can prevent a specific item from being shared. The WordPress posts, pages and custom post type screens also include a share history timeline for reviewing activity associated with each item.

Manual posts and review shows

Create a manual Google My Business post from the plugin settings when the update is not tied to a WordPress post, page or custom post type. Past posts can be edited or removed from the plugin without opening the Google My Business page.

To show reviews, use the shortcode builder to configure a slider or grid and preview it live. It includes presentation options and lets you exclude specific reviews manually. Add the generated shortcode to a post, page or sidebar widget. Reviews are updated automatically once each day.

Getting started

  1. Install and activate AutoSocial in WordPress.
