Manage ads and placements

Advanced Ads Pro extends Advanced Ads for managing banner, advertising-code, affiliate, and direct-sold campaigns in WordPress. Create ads and groups, rotate ads, set campaign start and expiration times, and execute split tests between ads. Automatic placements can insert ads into posts and pages without editing theme files. For manual placement, use shortcodes, widgets, or PHP functions.

Ads can use networks and programs such as Google AdSense, Amazon, Google Ad Manager, Ezoic, media.net, Booking.com, Awin, and other affiliate networks. Ad types include image banners, rich content, and HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or PHP code. Dedicated AdSense formats include text and show ads, native formats such as In-article and In-feed, Auto ads, and Auto ads for AMP. AMP delivery is available through the AMP Ads add-on.

Target content, users, and timing

Set display conditions for individual posts, pages, post types, categories, tags, taxonomies, authors, post age, and archives. Conditions also cover the front page, attachment pages, and 404 pages. Advanced Ads Pro includes keyword targeting and URL parameter rules. Ads can be hidden on secondary queries, in post feeds, and from bots or web crawlers.

Visitor conditions can use device type, logged-in status, user role, referrer, capability, browser language, ad blocker, IP address, browser, or browser width. The Geo Targeting add-on adds location-based delivery. Pro also works with time-of-day targeting and frequency capping. Responsive image ads and device conditions let you select delivery for mobile, tablet, desktop, or selected browser sizes.

Place ads after paragraphs, headlines, pictures, or other HTML components; at the top or bottom of content; in sidebars and footers; or before the closing head tag. Page peel placements, shortcodes, and PHP functions provide further settings. Pro adds placements and parallax ads. Sticky, anchor, popup, layer, and interstitial formats are available through their respective add-ons.

Pro features, tracking, and integrations

Advanced Ads Pro includes cache-busting, lazy loading, ad refresh, click fraud protection, and an ad blocker module. The module can provide alternative content, fallback ads, overlays, or redirects for visitors using ad blockers, and can help prevent ad blockers from disrupting add-on scripts.

The separate Tracking add-on measures impressions and clicks for ads and groups. Store the data in the WordPress database and review it in the dashboard, or send it to Google Analytics. Other add-ons include AMP Ads, Google Ad Manager Integration, Sticky Ads, PopUp and Layer Ads, Selling Ads, and Geo Targeting. Advanced Ads can generate an ads.txt file with AdSense information and works with affiliate extensions such as Pretty Links, ThirstyAffiliates, and Lasso.

Set up a campaign

Create an ad in Advanced Ads, choose its content and placement, then add display or user conditions and publish it. Set a schedule or rotation when needed. Use automatic injection for content placements, or place an ad with a shortcode, widget, or PHP function. Built-in importers can move ads, groups, placements, and settings from Ad Inserter, Ads for WP, and AMP for WP Ads.
