Choose how to arrange files and content
- Folder structure: Create parent folders with unlimited subfolders to group related media and supported content.
- Drag-and-drop moves: Move individual files or select multiple files and folders to move them together. Pages, posts, and custom post types can also be bulk-selected and moved into folders.
- Sorting: Sort files by file name, created date, modified date, author, newest, oldest, and other available settings. Set a default order or sort temporarily while working.
- Role permissions: Assign folder permissions by visitor role for adding, viewing, and editing folders.
Bring existing folders and utilities into your workflow
Import folder structures from supported media folder plugins: FileBird, Enhanced Media Library, WordPress Media Library Folders, WordPress Real Media Library, WP Media Folder, HappyFiles, Folders, and Wicked Folders.
CatFolders supports the Media Library Assistant area under Media > Assistant and the [mla_gallery] shortcode with folder-related parameters. The listed editor and builder integrations include Gutenberg, Elementor, WPBakery, Visual Composer, Themify, Divi Builder, and Thrive Architect.
Set up folders in WordPress
Install and activate WP Media Folders PRO, then open the folder tree in the Media Library. Create parent folders and subfolders, move existing entries with drag and drop, and configure sorting or folder permissions for your workflow. For a migration, use the import option for a supported plugin.
After setup, use folders to manage media and supported post types, including in processes with the listed editors and builders.
