Choose a layout and content source

Smart Slider 3 Pro makes responsive image, video, post, and layered sliders in WordPress. Start with a blank slider, a template slider, or a pre-made slide from the Slide Library. In the live editor, arrange layers in rows and columns or position them freely. Choose a full-width or boxed layout, or use the Pro full-page responsive layout.

For content that needs to adapt across screen sizes, default-positioned layers offer better responsive behavior and faster slide building. Absolute positioning is available for freely placed layers and works well for decoration. Refine designs for mobile, tablet, and desktop with adaptive layer font sizing, custom responsive breakpoints, and device-specific layer visibility.

Connect dynamic slide sources

The free version supports WordPress posts filtered by category or tag, or selected posts. Pro includes WordPress custom post types filtered by custom taxonomy or selected posts. WooCommerce product sources can use category, tag, featured, stock, or downloadable status filters, or selected products.

Gallery sources show pictures and related metadata from selected galleries, including galleries from NextGEN Gallery, Gallery by BestWebSoft, and Photo Gallery by WD. Event sources work with All-in-One Event Calendar, Events Manager, and The Events Calendar. Social sources include Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, YouTube, and Pinterest.

Style layers, animation, and controls

Add headings, text, images, buttons, Vimeo videos, and YouTube videos as layers. Smart Slider 3 Pro adds 18 extra layers, an animation builder, a live animation timeline, and two extra slider types. It also includes more than 54 background animation options, alongside horizontal, vertical, and fade slide transitions.

Use the font and style manager to adjust typography and visual details. Static overlays, slide thumbnail images, shadows, and controls such as arrows, bullets, autoplay, bars, and thumbnails give you options for presenting and navigating content. A built-in lightbox and autoplay timing options are also included. Visitors can navigate by touch swipe, scrolling, or keyboard.

Publish within WordPress

The plugin integrates with the WordPress media manager, shortcodes, widgets, post permalinks, the post editor, and Gutenberg. Page builder support includes Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, Page Builder by SiteOrigin, Visual Composer, and WPBakery Page Builder. Smart Slider 3 Pro is compatible with WordPress Multisite and is described as working with any WordPress theme.

Install and activate the add-on, then open the Smart Slider interface and make a slider from a template, a pre-made slide, or a blank layout. Add media or choose a dynamic source, arrange layers, set responsive behavior and controls, then publish using an available WordPress integration.

If a slider area stays empty, a JavaScript error may be blocking the slider scripts. Check the browser console for errors; an outdated jQuery version loaded by a theme is one possible cause.
