Keep PDF files within your WordPress content
PDF Embedder Premium displays PDFs inside posts, pages, and custom post types. The responsive viewer uses a document’s natural dimensions or a width you select, and adjusts to the available browser space. Readers can turn pages with Next and Previous controls and zoom in to inspect details.
Embed unlimited PDFs from the Media Library or another folder on your website. Use the viewer for menus, price lists, ebooks, guides, reports, catalogs, brochures, newsletters, manuals, course materials, event programs, portfolios, and other PDF resources.
Choose the reading controls you need
Premium includes a toolbar download button and working links within the PDF and to other pages. Readers can scroll continuously, jump to a page number, or search the document text and move to matching pages. View and download tracking helps you see which documents users access.
On mobile, when a document renders narrower than the width you set, it appears as a thumbnail with a prominent full-screen viewing button. Opening it gives the document the focus of the mobile browser, where readers can swipe between pages.
Match plan capabilities to the document
Features vary by plan in PDF Embedder Premium. Pro adds secure viewing, which encrypts the PDF during transmission and makes the original difficult for casual users to save or print. It also adds watermarks with text such as a logged-in user’s name or email address, which can discourage sharing screenshots. These settings can be used with pages restricted by membership or e-commerce plugins.
Elite adds automatic PDF thumbnails for visual listings of document collections.
Add PDFs in the editor you use
In the WordPress Block Editor, add the PDF Embedder block, choose a file, and preview it while editing. In the Classic Editor or a page builder, add the PDF with a shortcode. The Elementor widget includes the block’s options and a live preview in the Elementor editor. Site-wide defaults, including width and toolbar position, are available in the plugin options; block and shortcode settings can override them for individual documents.
The block and shortcode can be placed in content controlled by membership, e-commerce, and course extensions. For example, use restricted pages with MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, or WooCommerce Memberships, or add handouts and workbooks to LearnDash, LifterLMS, and Tutor LMS courses. You can also place several PDFs on one page as a document library, display a sample chapter, or deliver an ebook through your chosen WordPress workflow.
Install and publish
Install PDF Embedder Premium, then upload a PDF to the Media Library or copy the direct URL of a hosted PDF. Add the PDF Embedder block or shortcode to a post or page, choose the document, adjust its show settings, and publish. Configure shared defaults in the PDF Embedder settings and enable the plan capabilities you need.
