Password Protected Pro for WordPress Content Access

Password Protected Pro extends WordPress website-wide password protection with controls for individual pages and posts, WooCommerce products and categories, custom post types and taxonomies, the WordPress login area, and selected sections of content. Partial content protection uses shortcodes to lock text, media, or downloads while leaving previews visible. It also supports Elementor, the WordPress Block Editor, and Beaver Builder for restricting sections, blocks, or widgets.

Choose what to protect

Password Protected Pro extends WordPress website-wide password protection with controls for individual pages and posts, WooCommerce products and categories, custom post types and taxonomies, the WordPress login area, and selected sections of content. Partial content protection uses shortcodes to lock text, media, or downloads while leaving previews visible. It also supports Elementor, the WordPress Block Editor, and Beaver Builder for restricting sections, blocks, or widgets.

Set access rules

Choose the site areas to protect, then make multiple passwords for various users or purposes. You can allow trusted WordPress roles or specified IP addresses, and exclude pages, posts, or post types that should stay public. Bypass links give approved visitors password-free access. Expiration dates and usage limits control how long or how often a password can be used.

Visitors can also request access by email. An administrator can approve or reject each request in the WordPress dashboard, and approved visitors receive the password. For multisite networks, protection for multiple websites can be managed from the main site.

Collect information or sell access

Connect Gravity Forms to collect payments, registrations, lead information, contact details, or other data before granting access. After a successful form submission, the add-on can email the user a bypass link.

With WooCommerce, sell protected pages or posts through a simple or variable virtual product. Customers can receive access details by email after purchase. Usage limits, expiration options, and custom purchase confirmation messages help manage that access.

Customize the screen and review activity

Use the live preview to adjust the protection screen’s colors, styles, background, and logo. Add instructions above or below the password form, or custom messages for expired passwords and reached usage limits. Google reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, and Cloudflare Turnstile can help block bots at the password screen.

Limit login attempts to help protect the screen from brute-force attacks. Detailed activity logs record password attempts, including visitor IP address, browser information, date, time, and whether access succeeded. You can filter entries and export them to CSV for review.

Install and configure

Install and activate Password Protected Pro in WordPress, then select the content areas and access rules to use. Add passwords, exclusions, role or IP access, and any expiration or usage limits. Customize the protection screen and connect Gravity Forms or WooCommerce if needed. Publish the protected content, then review access activity and login attempts as the process develops.
