Extend Bookly for appointment scheduling

Bookly Pro is a paid add-on for Bookly, a WordPress system for booking time-based services. It includes online payments, removes the limits on staff members and services, and enables the use of Bookly add-ons. The free setup supports up to five services and does not include online payments or add-on access.

Bookly is intended for businesses and individual providers that schedule services such as salon appointments, lessons, fitness sessions, photography, consulting, health and wellness visits, or transportation. It is not designed for hotel or rental bookings.

From service selection to confirmation

After the business sets up categories, services, staff and working availability, customers use a responsive booking form to choose a category and service, choose the employee, and pick a date and available time. They provide the requested contact details to submit the reservation. The appointment appears in the booking calendar, and configured notifications can send email or SMS confirmations and SMS reminders.

The form can be customized, including its text, appearance and visible fields. Available times can be shown in the customer's time zone. Businesses can add booking forms to site pages and manage the customer list and appointment calendar from the WordPress administration area.

Scheduling and payment options

Bookly Pro supports unlimited staff members, each with an individual working schedule and booking calendar, and unlimited services with additional options such as padding time, visibility and limitations. Businesses can collect payments online through supported processors, including PayPal, Stripe, 2Checkout, Authorize.Net, Mollie, Payson, PayUbiz and PayU Latam.

Other Pro capabilities include Google Calendar integration, WooCommerce compatibility, customer list import and export, booking and payment analytics, and appointment export through an iCalendar feed. Online meetings can be connected through Zoom, Google Meet or Jitsi. Bookly add-ons can extend the setup for specific needs, such as group bookings, custom fields, recurring appointments, deposits, coupons or a waiting list; add-ons require Bookly Pro and may be purchased separately.

Set up the booking flow

1. Install Bookly on the WordPress site, then install and activate the Bookly Pro add-on.
2. Create categories and services, add staff members, and set staff schedules and booking rules.
3. Configure the booking form, customer notifications and any payment settings you plan to use.
4. Add the form to a website page and make a test reservation.
5. Check available times, staff assignments, notifications, reminders and payment steps, then adjust the setup before customers begin booking.

From the administration area, businesses can review the calendar, approve or adjust reservations, and manage service and customer information. Add Bookly add-ons when a particular scheduling requirement calls for them.
