Advanced Database Cleaner Premium helps WordPress administrators inspect database entries and select what to remove. Cleaning unnecessary data can reduce database size and may improve query performance, particularly on busy or older sites.
Choose a cleanup route
Use general cleanup for familiar maintenance tasks, or open the management views to inspect individual database areas such as tables, settings, cron jobs, post types, metadata, and transients.
General cleanup covers old post and page revisions, auto-drafts, trashed posts, pending, spam, and trashed comments, pingbacks, trackbacks, unused metadata and relationships, expired transients, duplicated metadata, and oEmbed caches. WooCommerce cleanup includes orphaned product variations, orphaned customer analytics, and expired customer sessions. Premium also covers completed, failed, and canceled Action Scheduler actions, their logs, and orphan logs.
Management views display details such as table size and row count, option values and autoload status, cron schedules, and metadata linked to posts or users. You can inspect table contents and structure, sort records, view serialized or JSON values in original or formatted form, and manage options, tables, cron jobs, post types, metadata, and transients. Table tools include optimization, repair, InnoDB conversion, and cleanup. The interface can flag large autoloaded options and cron jobs without valid actions.
Review candidates and set retention
Before cleanup, preview eligible entries, estimated space by item type, and the total estimated space to be freed. Sort preview tables by name, date, size, or website ID. Filters narrow the records under review, while a Keep last X days rule limits cleanup to older data.
Premium includes filters across the management modules, including by size, value, autoload status, expiration, metadata type, owner, and multisite website ID. It also supports Keep last X items rules per parent, such as revisions per post, or across the site, such as pingbacks. These item-count rules can be combined with the days-based rule, including in scheduled tasks.
Check who owns database items
Local scanning and Remote SmartScan technology help identify the owners of tables, options, post meta, visitor meta, transients, and cron jobs. Cloud-enhanced ownership data can help identify leftovers from deleted extensions and themes. The interface may show multiple possible owners and whether an owner is active, inactive, or not installed. Administrators can correct misidentified ownership and check remote scan credits.
Schedule cleanup and maintenance
Create separate cleanup tasks for various routines, choose which items each task handles, and set retention rules. Tasks can run once, hourly, twice a day, daily, weekly, or monthly. Pause or resume them as needed. Scheduled database optimization and repair are also available.
Premium task logs record executed actions, item counts, timestamps, and details. Database analytics track daily size and table counts, with daily and monthly charts, raw measurements, and table-level size and row changes. Multi-table selection supports comparisons, and growth data can help locate abnormal increases.
Review activity and multisite data
Plugin and theme activity tracking records activations, deactivations, uninstalls, and theme switches in a timeline. Logs and direct access to the WordPress debug log support troubleshooting. The interface is responsive and lets administrators show or conceal tabs.
For multisite, network-wide cleanup is available from the main site. Premium adds per-site visibility and filters, with automation that can run across the network. Activity is recorded on the main site.
Get started
Install and activate the extension, then open its interface to inspect database records. Configure filters or retention rules and preview cleanup candidates before removing selected data. Back up the database before cleanup. Create scheduled tasks if you want recurring maintenance.
