WPC Composite Products for WooCommerce Premium lets a shop build one configurable product from multiple component products. Shoppers can select variable parts for a computer or combine related entries in a composite purchase.
Store administrators set the components and the rules for each choice. Responsive AJAX keyword search helps shoppers find products in longer lists. Components can be reordered with drag and drop, and each can include a short description.
Set component rules
- Mark each component as required or optional, and set a default product and quantity.
- Allow shoppers to change quantities and set minimum or maximum quantities for individual component products.
- Set required minimum and maximum amounts for the composite total.
- Set a percentage discount. The total price recalculates when quantities change.
- Adjust the text before and after component selections, including the text for a null selection option.
- Component products remain inventory-managed as they are in standalone sales.
Choose component sources and layouts
The Premium edition can source component settings from product categories, tags, or attributes. This lets a composite product use existing product classifications to organize its choices. For example, a store can group compatible parts with categories or tags, or use product attributes as a source.
Choose a step-by-step or accordion layout for presenting components. These layouts let the store arrange how shoppers move through a selection process with many options.
Set up the composite product
With WooCommerce installed, install and activate the plugin in the WordPress dashboard. Create or edit a product, choose “Smart composite” as its product data, then add and arrange the component products. Set defaults, quantity rules, total limits, and the desired layout and component source, then save the product. Check the customer selection flow, pricing changes, and required or optional choices before making the product available.
During shopping, customers search or view the available components, choose required and optional items, and adjust quantities where permitted. The configured defaults and limits structure their selections, while the price recalculates as quantities change.
