WooCommerce Autocomplete Orders Premium applies a selected rule for changing orders to Completed. It is intended for stores selling virtual goods, subscriptions, downloadable products or physical products, and can work with major payment providers compatible with WooCommerce.
Set a completion rule
- Paid orders of virtual products only: complete orders containing only virtual products after successful payment.
- All paid orders of any product: complete paid orders containing virtual or physical products after successful payment.
- All orders: complete every order regardless of payment status. An unpaid order may be marked Completed, which can allow access to a product before payment is received.
Payment gateway requirements
PayPal, SagePay and Stripe are among the major providers described as supported. For a paid-order rule to work, the gateway must recognize that payment has been received and call woocommerce_payment_complete() or $order->payment_complete(). If a gateway does not trigger WooCommerce payment completion, eligible orders may not complete automatically.
Premium payment controls
Configure automatic completion separately for Direct bank transfer, Check and Cash on delivery payments. The Premium edition also works with completing cash-on-delivery orders that contain downloadable products. These controls let the order workflow account for the checkout method and product type.
Install and configure
- Install and activate the add-on in WordPress.
- Open WooCommerce > Settings > Autocomplete Orders and choose a mode other than off. Set the available payment-method settings to match your process.
- For PayPal, open WooCommerce > Settings > Checkout > PayPal, confirm the PayPal Email is the primary email on your PayPal account, and activate Payment Data Transfer. Copy the resulting identity token into the PayPal settings.
If orders do not complete, check the selected mode and whether the gateway calls WooCommerce's payment-completion methods. The all-orders mode can mark an order complete before payment, so use it only when that behavior is intended.
